Corangamite CMA is a progressive community and natural resource management (NRM) focused organisation, responsible for land, biodiversity and water resources management in an area stretching from Geelong to Ballarat and along the coast to Peterborough. A region that offers great socio economic benefits such as employment, education, state-of-the-art health care services, quality housing, abundant recreational choices and vibrant communities.

The newly created Executive position reports to the CEO and is underpinned by Corangamite Regional Catchment Strategy and its sub-strategies to increase investment and improve community integration, coordination and participation in the planning and delivery of NRM, including sustainable agriculture.

Supporting the success of these primary objectives is accountability for strategic communications and engagement to a wide range of stakeholders, including rural landowners, community groups, industry groups, all tiers of government, private and philanthropic sectors, media and staff.

Community (including private rural land owners) and investor relations being the central theme that drives the CMA’s strategic objectives for better NRM outcomes, you will be required to partner with investors and be a key advisor to the CEO in decisions that may impact the reputation of the CMA.

You would ideally possess strong and influential connections across the Corangamite CMA region, and/or demonstrate prior experience managing the interests of local and regional communities and securing investment across government, corporate and philanthropic sectors. With exceptional communication and high level strategic relationship management skills and the ability to establish credibility quickly, you are a respected and charismatic leader who values a ‘one team’ approach to developing engaged and high performing organisations.

Negotiated salary will be commensurate with experience. Position is offered on a three-year full time Executive contract, based in the Corangamite CMA’s Colac office, with the expectation to work from the Geelong office on an as needs basis.
